Alternative identification
For an applicant without a passport or driver’s licence.
- Completed and signed individual TRN form
- National ID, voter’s ID, work ID, school ID or certified passport-sized photographs
- Birth certificate and name-change document where applicable
Overseas individual
For an applicant submitting from outside Jamaica.
- Completed and signed individual TRN form
- Notarised copy of passport or driver’s licence
- Authorization letter where another person will submit or collect
- Official English translation if a supporting document is not in English

- Completed and signed individual TRN application form
- Passport or driver’s licence
- If neither is available: National ID, voter’s ID, work ID, school ID or certified passport-sized photographs together with a birth certificate
- Marriage certificate or deed poll if the applicant’s current name differs from the supporting records
- Original or properly certified supporting documents, as applicable
- Authorization letter if another person will submit or collect on the applicant’s behalf

Tax Administration Jamaica assigns the TRN and may request additional information. Requirements differ for organisations and overseas applicants.

What should I send first?
Start with a short description of the request, the relevant deadline and a list of the documents you already have. Do not send original documents unless collection has been specifically agreed.
Are official fees included?
Government, registry, delivery and third-party professional fees are separate unless the written quotation expressly includes them.
Can Ask Uncle Winston submit the application for me?
It depends on the particular process. Some agencies require the applicant to attend, sign, provide biometrics or submit personally. We will confirm what can be handled administratively.
How long will the service take?
Our expected completion time is confirmed after reviewing the request. Any government or third-party processing period begins after submission and remains outside our control.
