Get help assembling the details needed to request a certified copy of a Jamaican marriage record.
Documents and information
Your exact checklist may change based on your circumstances. Start with the following:
- Both spouses’ full names, including the wife’s maiden name
- Date, type and place of marriage
- Parish and district where the marriage occurred
- Name of the marriage officer, if known
- Names of the two witnesses, if known
- Applicant’s name, address, relationship to the couple and contact details
- Preferred delivery or pickup location and the reason for applying
The Office of the Registrar-General may require further information if the record cannot be readily identified. Record corrections and other registry procedures are separate services.

What should I send first?
Start with a short description of the request, the relevant deadline and a list of the documents you already have. Do not send original documents unless collection has been specifically agreed.
Are official fees included?
Government, registry, delivery and third-party professional fees are separate unless the written quotation expressly includes them.
Can Ask Uncle Winston submit the application for me?
It depends on the particular process. Some agencies require the applicant to attend, sign, provide biometrics or submit personally. We will confirm what can be handled administratively.
How long will the service take?
Our expected completion time is confirmed after reviewing the request. Any government or third-party processing period begins after submission and remains outside our control.
