Licence and permit checklists

Get help identifying likely approvals and building an application checklist for a Jamaican business activity.

WHAT TO HAVE READY

Documents and information

Your exact checklist may change based on your circumstances. Start with the following:

  • Clear description of the product, service and day-to-day operations
  • Business structure, registration documents and TRNs
  • Proposed operating address and details of the premises
  • Parish or municipal area where the activity will operate
  • Existing licences, certificates, inspections or regulator correspondence
  • Planned start date and any application deadline
IMPORTANT TO KNOW

Licence requirements are activity- and location-specific. Each authority makes the final determination, and inspections or regulated professional services are separate.

Official requirements last checked: 29 August 2026

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before you request a quotation.

What should I send first?

Start with a short description of the request, the relevant deadline and a list of the documents you already have. Do not send original documents unless collection has been specifically agreed.

Are official fees included?

Government, registry, delivery and third-party professional fees are separate unless the written quotation expressly includes them.

Can Ask Uncle Winston submit the application for me?

It depends on the particular process. Some agencies require the applicant to attend, sign, provide biometrics or submit personally. We will confirm what can be handled administratively.

How long will the service take?

Our expected completion time is confirmed after reviewing the request. Any government or third-party processing period begins after submission and remains outside our control.
